Our CA date is set

Today we finalized with our adoption agency and the Consulate in Guangzhou China.  We will be leaving USA on June 17th and returning June 30th.  (Sorry all would be robbers but our house will be occupied by my parents and others)  We will pick Andrew Xuecheng Thomsic up on the 20th of June.  Our official Consulate Appointment (CA) will be on the 28th.  That is the final thing we need to do in China to finish everything legally.   He will legally be our son on the 20th in China and will become a US citizen automatically upon arrival in the US.  When we adopted Kayla we had to wait six months for our adoption to get finalized and then she became officially ours and officially a citizen.  With Andrew it all takes place in China.  He is ours and a citizen the moment he leaves.  We will fly into Shanghi then go to Nanjing (where he lives) then Guangzhou then back to Shanghi to leave.  Sounds like a lot of fun and great travel.  This will be the longest Haejin will have been away from Ethan and Kayla.  We are pretty excited and are counting down the days.  We will try to update you on this site from China each day.  Those of you who Skype let us know and we will "Call" you!  Be blessed.  We certainly are.

Travel Approval !!!

We just received our travel approval for China!  Our agency called late Friday with the good news.  They said we will be picking up our son on June 20th.  We had hoped to travel sooner but we will just have to wait an extra week or two.  Our tenative travel dates are June 17th - June 30th.  We will confirm on Tuesday with our agency when our Consolate appointment will be.  Andrew's paperwork is all done but we have to schedule with the consolate in China to get his travel visa.  This must be done in person in Guangzhou, China.  We will depart the day after we get his visa.  Travel looks about like this.  Fly into Shanghi, bullet train to Nanjing (City where Andrew lives, also the former capital of China)  Meet him and hang out in Nanjing a few days.  There is provencial paperwork to fill out, release from orphanage etc.  Tour the city a little then travel all together to Guangzhou.  We hang out in this city, do some site seeing, visit the zoo, go to medical appointments, no TB or bird flu allowed into the US.  When that is all done we get his Visa from the US Consolate in Guangzhou.  Fly back to Shanghi and on to America.  While we are in his city we hope to meet his foster parents.  We would like for him to stay in contact with them but it is up to him and them.  We can't wait to get him!  Thank you family and friends for taking this journey with us.

Here are some other pictures we have of him!

Ask and you receive

We got news from our adoption agency today that our Article 5 was approved now that approval is being taken to the people who run the orphanages in China and they will give us an approval to travel.  In other words in just two to six weeks we will be allowed to go pick up our new son.  Crazy stuff.  I know if your not on this journey it is difficult to understand how important these mini milestones are but we are only one step away from getting our son.  We are pretty excited today..(in two or three weeks we will be frustrated but enjoy it while it lasts right?!)
Hope you all are having a great day as well.

Our roof should be finished by Saturday (two days later then I thought)

Wait wait wait

I will probably get to blog tomorrow about great news getting our Article 5.  But tonight is waiting.  We should hear tomorrow if we are in our final phase.  We decided to get Andrew and Ethan bunk beds so they can share a room.  Ethan couldn't be more excited then to have bunk beds. hahah sucka.  Our roof is going well.  We will hopefully be done by Friday.  We literally only have to install a garage door opener and we will be done with everything we planned on doing (and some unplanned) when we first bought the house.  Time to move.  Just Kidding.
Our church friends bought us a new computer so now I can blog quickly.  We can't thank them enough.  We are so blessed by having such a loving community around us.  Well that's all today...talk to you tomorrow. I hope.
